SLM covers a broad range of services for Corporate Jet, Regional Airlines, Major Airlines, Military and other sectors of the Aviation Industry. Overhauled components include landing gear struts, engine compressor housings, compressor shrouds, transition ducts, bearing housings and other components.
SLM uses water jet stripping for coating removal as well as plasma spray, wire combustion flame spray and high velocity oxy fuel (HVOF) processes to apply materials that were developed specifically for the aircraft industry. The wide variety of materials used includes an aluminum polyester composite, a nickel graphite alloy, pure molybdenum, stainless steels, silicon aluminum and high temperature oxidation resistant alloys, including chromium, cobalt, nickel and tungsten.
