Joe Bell joins SLM as Operations Manager |

Joe has recently returned to SLM as Operations Manager and will be responsible for the Day to Day activities of the operation. Joe previously worked at SLM for three years and three years at Nooter in various engineering roles before departing to Covidien for 15 years where he held increasing management positions in maintenance, engineering and operations.
He is a Mechanical Engineer, Certified Welding Inspector, and member of the AWS and ASME organizations. He is proficient in Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and will use Operational Excellence as the foundation and building blocks to improve service, quality, and cost in operations.
Joe is active in competing at local and national Karate events, and is a member of the USANKF and Shitokai karate organizations. He volunteers at his Local Humane Society and is an assistant scout master with the Boy Scouts of America.

SLM Approved to Perform Heat Treating |

We would like to inform all of our current and future customers that SLM has recently been approved by the FAA to perform Heat Treating. Heat Treat has been added to our Operations ’s Specification A003-1 as a Limited Rating - Specialized Services. Currently SLM has 2 Air Circulating Furnaces, one of which is capable of achieving 2200 deg. F. However, In the event our equipment does not meet our customers heat treatment needs we will work closely with a local, nationally recognized heat treat company with many capabilities to accomplish the requirement. |
